Life is hard for Hai. His mental illness makes it hard to think clearly, keeping him trapped at home for months on end. Even taking care of himself felt impossible. Then Qiaoyi, a social worker from Buns of Joy, visited Hai. She patiently taught him simple things – showering, brushing his teeth, and keeping himself clean. Slowly, Hai improved and even began cleaning at Buns of Joy. Hai earns a little money for cleaning at Buns of Joy. Hai now has hope, friends, and improved self-respect.
