Elias was born with hydrocephalus, a neurological disorder caused by an abnormal buildup of fluid in the brain. Surgery to place a shunt to move the fluid from the head to the abdomen helped to resolve the issue.
But even following the surgery, Elias has an enlarged head and is unable to walk. The PHF Medical Fund provided a wheelchair for five-year-old Elias, making life easier for him and his mama! For privacy reasons, we cannot show his photo.
